[RP Town Announce] Legislative Committee Meeting (August 10, 2005)

The Legislative Committee of the Town Council will meet on Wednesday, 
August 10, at 7:30 pm.  Topics to be discussed will include the 
powers and duties of the deputy town administrator, and the process 
for hiring a person to fill that position (in particular whether the 
Town Council must approve a candidate, or the hiring will be 
administrative only).  Also to be discussed is creation of a process 
for finding and screening candidates for all types of appointments, 
whether paid or unpaid.

All residents are welcome to attend this meeting and express their 
opinions early in the process, but there will be multiple 
opportunities in the future for citizen input before anything becomes 
law.

Upcoming events:

The Recreation Board will meet on Monday, August 15.  The Town 
Council will have it's regular work session on Monday, August 29.
