Last October, the Town Crier published a longish piece on this topic.  
There's a discussion of what "100-year floodplain" means, in case you  
are interested. The coverage begins on page 5, but there's an box on  
page 4 that explains about FEMA's flood insurance rate maps. There's  
also a town map (page 7) and instructions for how to interpret it  
along with several links for more information. Here's a link that I

for the October 2005 issue.
