I have no children and I have a fitness center where I work (USDA).  I  agree 
that there is not much for people to do in the neighborhood.  But  what I'd 
REALLY love is a dog park. 
 
I hope the town planners don't forget that there is a fairly large dog  
owning constituency in this town and we dog owners would like an ammenity that  
suits our particular needs too.  And a lot less expensive than other  
recreational options involving buildings.
