Friends,

I know you may also have received the same emails recently--toys for  
tot donations at record lows and food shelf pantries barely stocked.   
These are not false stories.  The need this year is greater than ever  
before.  We have many families in Riverdale Park that need assistance  
this year as well.  If you can contribute a toy or some food, I know  
the gift would be appreciated.  Here are two places that I know that  
will make sure your contribution gets to people in this immediate  
community.  Please chime in, if you know of others.

Christian Life Center on Taylor Road.  They operate a food pantry and  
small clothing shop weekly.  They also sponsor several families in  
the area.  New and used clothing and gently-used toys are  
appreciated.  Can/boxed food is also accepted.

The town staff have once again adopted several families in town for  
the holidays.  The families need both food and gifts for the kids.  I  
don't know all the details, but Colleen Ferguson or anyone at town  
hall can help you out.  I cc'd her on this email.
