[RP TownTalk] immoderate moderation

As someone who's fairly new to the site, can I ask -
is a person put on "moderation" because the moderator
thinks that person is saying something wrong, or
because another poster has reported him/her, or both?
If I can offer my 2cents, if it is strictly decided by
the site moderator, I think that if the poster hasn't
had any complaints filed against him or her for what
they've said, unless they're saying something REALLY
terrible, threatening, etc., that they should be cut
some slack. I certainly do not support people
threatening each other, personal insults, or that sort
of thing, but if we continually have to walk on eggs
when expressing our opinions, then the purpose of a
public forum is being defeated. We are all adults and
if someone is unhappy with things being said on the
forum, to be perfectly frank, they don't need to read
or respond to messages. Here again, this is just my
opinion. Thanks! :)
