Riverdale Park Residents,

A new round of community meetings about the Cafritz property is taking
place this week. The meeting is Thursday, July 26 from 7-9 pm with a
repeat session on Saturday, July 28.

Event info is at: http://www.cafritzpop.com/

It's really important that Riverdale Park have a healthy amount of
representation during these sessions. Residents from College Park,
University Park, and Hyattsville are all weighing in on the project
too. Hope you can make it.

Many area residents are concerned about the traffic impacts that
rezoning could have, so if Riverdale Park residents want to see a mix
of uses or any retail component, we need to speak up. The property is
currently zoned R-55 and could accomodate about 230 single family
houses within the current zoning. If rezoned, the property could
potentially include a mix of uses, a variety of housing types, and
would be more dense than R-55 allows. (The developers have stated
their desire to attract Whole Foods.)

Upcoming workshops are planned for July 26th and July 28th, at which
time the Cafritz team will provide the community with design
principles for development. The community is invited to continue
working with the Cafritz's and their team to guide the development of
the property. These meetings will be followed by a set of meetings
scheduled for September 15th and September 18th, at which time a
concept plan will be discussed.
