It really is the time of year for the babies, isn't it?  I was mowing the
lawn and came to a particularly sheltered area under a bush.  I got near
with the lawn mower and the brush started jumping - a little baby bird (I
don't know types either) came frantically hopping out.  Clearly it couldn't
fly.  Mama was on the fence a few feet away calling loudly - looked to me
like she was trying to keep my attention on her instead of the baby.  I
pulled back fast and have left that part of the yard untouched since then.
I love the idea of having a babybird haven in the back corner of my yard.
What a terrific little planet we live on!
