[RP TownTalk] Suspicious activity?

In addition to talk of homes not likely to be burglarized if a dog lives
there, there is another positive, public safety benefit to having larger dogs in
the community. We big dog owners already contribute to neighborhood safety
when we take our dogs for a walk, just by being out there. I know other
places include dog walking owners as part of the neighborhood watch program and I
think we would be a great adjunct.

(No offense meant to smaller dog owners.)

I concur with Sarah it would be great to establish a formal
neighborhood watch. There is now a neighborhood watch coordinator
for this area of the county, Kim Lugo. I know she would be very
willing to come out for a meeting, if someone is interested in
calling her and coordinating an initial meeting. She can be reached
at 301-985-5476. There is also an upcoming county neighborhood watch
training in early June. I don't have the details at my fingertips,
but I'm sure Kim would know. Also, I'm not sure about RP crime
stats, but I understand that in general in the county May/June are
months which often see an increase in criminal activity.
