[RP TownTalk] Budget Meeting

The Thursday night (5/31/07) budget meeting is likely to be another 
detail work session, this time going line by line thru the Police budget.
 
While the public is more than welcome to attend, I fear it will not 
answer many questions. 
 
The new council will likely meet Tues, Wed and Thur of next week 
(May 5,6,7) to work on the the budget. Unfortunately, that Thur (May 7) 
is also the 1st Cafritz development meeting.
 
The council will have difficulty getting thru the first pass of the budget 
by June 8 (the tax rate rate is suppose to be set by the 8th). 
 
The last budget meeting reduced the budget by $13,700. Which is 
not much. That would reduce the proposed tax rate from 68.7 to 68.4.
 
There is a long way to go.
