I, for one, did not know that Raytheon was coming to our town.

I think it is AWFUL.

If it were not a done deal (as it appears it is) I would definitely want a
bigger discussion and I for one would petition that they not come.

To say that a large manufacturer of weapons of mass destruction coming to
our town is great for economic reasons is silly to me.  Should we be hoping
that the US decides to bomb other innocent civilians and start more wars so
that raytheon can lease the other 10%?  Maybe if we bomb both Iran and Syria
Raytheon might want to build at the Cafritz property too.

Someone asked if there would be a discussion if GE (who also produces
weapons) would be welcome.  I wouldn't be thrilled about them either.  So
often on this list people talk about the charm of Riverdale park and I don't
see how Raytheon fits in.

What if a nuclear plant were moving in?  We would all be against it because
of the potentially dangerous/lethal products being produced that might
contaminate our community and affect our children.  I guess as long as the
company is manufacturing products that kill other people's children then its
ok?

I am extremely disheartened that Raytheon is coming here.  That's my
personal opinion.
