[RP TownTalk] Fwd: Jin Lee Palace Liquor License

Friends and neighbors,

I rarely come to you the town's residents requesting that you take specific
action, but this is one case that I will. It is my opinion and one shared
by and endorsed by unanimous vote of the town council, that the proposed
liquor store for the corner of Riverdale Road and Kenilworth Avenue is a
very bad proposal and one that this town must resist.

Increasing the number of liquor stores anywhere along Kenilworth is probably
not a good thing, but to put a drive through liquor store at that corner
will cause increased traffic congestion, spread the problems associated with
loitering and public alcohol consumption, and generally impede the
revitalization of that area that is showing real potential.

I am joining with a broad and growing coalition to stop this proposed liquor
store, and hope to get it reversed even before seeing it go before the
liquor board on February 22. However, if it should make it to a hearing, I
ask that any of you who can be available on that date come and testify
against it. I will keep you informed of the situation as it progresses.

Thanks and best wishes,

Vern
