Friends and neighbors,
 
I just wanted to update you on the progress of removing the burnout at 5413 Riverdale Road.  At long last the county has granted a demolition permit this morning, and the town followed suit within the last hour. 
 
It is my understanding that the contractors are ready to begin and should start within a week or two.  
 
This has been one of the more frustrating experiences as mayor to get this demolition permitted--3 months to OK the demolition of a building that was decreed not fit for humans to ENTER even before the fire!
 
Hopefully it is about over now and we will no longer have a ugly burnout confronting people entering town from the east.
