Dear Susan:
 
Thank you for contacting me with your concerns over House Bill 927 (PG/MC
119), which is titled - Prince George's County - Maryland-National Capital
Park and Planning Commission - Zoning Appeals.  On February 29th, this bill
received an unfavorable report from the Prince George's County House
Delegation, which effectively ends this bills consideration during the 2008
legislative session.  As written, I voted in opposition to this legislation.


 

I strongly believe that we must maintain a delicate balance between
promoting the economic development of our county and the ability of our
citizens and our public organizations to have a strong voice in such
development.  In the end, this legislation and the widespread community
response that it created is a great example of democratic government in
action.   

 

Again, thank you for contacting my office with your objections to HB 927 and
please do not hesitate to contact my office with future legislative and
community concerns.
