An interesting article in todays' Gazette about the problems in getting new businesses to town center.  Too bad that what could be a nice little shopping center is sitting idle, isn't it?  And - personal opinion only - the situation wasn't helped any when Metro decided to (apparently) permanently re-route the F-4 buses from going through the town center to having the bus travel on Route 1 and Route 410.  Used to be that people on the bus had direct access 7 days a week to visit the farmers' market, the arts festival, etc., or to board the MARC trains; now they have to walk a few blocks out of their way to do so.  And for people with disabilities, the elderly, or people with small children, that's not always convenient.  If it's not as easy for people to get to town center, it's going to make it that much harder for any new businesses to thrive.
