[RP TownTalk] Great source for reclaimed lumber!

Hello former neighbors and fellow preservationists-

 

We recently found a great source in Washington County, Maryland (that's
about 1.5 hours from Riverdale Park) that has an ever-changing and
impressive array of reclaimed (long and short lengths) chestnut, oak,
walnut, and other wood for use in restoration work, including trim and
floors, at very reasonable (rural) prices.

Ok, so we may have purchased all of their chestnut (they are planing it as I
write), but there is always more coming in. Western Maryland, the West
Virginia panhandle, and southern Pennsylvania have a great supply of old
farm and commercial buildings falling to ruin in the middle of fields or
being replaced with more efficient structures (this is not a case of farms
being redeveloped for new subdivisions) and thus are being salvaged.
