Gloria you are of course correct. To explain my marginal skills with the 
written word, I often say, with a smile, that 'I took English as a 
second language.' Given this thread I have trepidation.

Before you ask my first language would be computer languages, dialects 
like FORTRAN, COBALT, Pascal...
