Mandatory water restrictions in effect due to storm
July 25, 2010 - 9:31pm

WASHINGTON - The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission has called
for mandatory water restrictions after Sunday's storms caused their
River Road water to lose power.

The restrictions are in effect for the entire WSSC coverage area in
Montgomery and Prince George's Counties.

Outside water use, such as car washing, plant-watering and pool
maintenance, is prohibited.

Water consumption inside residences should be kept to essential use
only. Dishwashers and washing machines should not be used.

Restrictions will not be lifted once power immediately returns. A few
hours are needed to let the River Road plant restore full operations.
