I tried to point out this simple concept to the town council and mayor 
at the Oct 25th meeting when they justified the selling of our community 
building because it is supposedly in such sad shape.

I quote our town charter:

§ 904: *Protection of Town Property*
The town may do whatever may be necessary to protect town property and 
to keep all
town property in good condition.

Our mayor took the word "may" to mean he doesn't have to do anything 
with regard to the upkeep of one of our very important assets.

I will leave this issue for all to think about.
