[RP TownTalk] Fire Chief Ryan and assistance to him

Friends and neighbors,

Late this morning I spoke with Steve Lamphire, President of Volunteer
Company 7, and at that point Chief Ryan's condition remained critical and
basically unchanged from yesterday.

We briefly discussed what needs the Chief or his family might have, but it
was very clear that all of those most directly associated were not even
thinking about these types of questions right now.  As I forwarded in the
original message, blood donations may be needed, and such charity is always
welcome. Steve said that he will get back regarding a likely blood
collection time and place.

I told him that several residents had already made plane a desire to donate
blood, money or whatever else might be needed. Steve expressed his thanks
and we left it at he will get back to me when the situation becomes more
settled.

Regarding time and place for collecting money, I think the most respectful
thing would be to see if the firehouse itself wants to have such a
collection first. If so we can all easily stop by and donate there, and if
the firehouse would prefer that the town handle it, then we will gladly do
so at town hall. For right now though, lets let the Chief, his family, and
his extended family Company 7, grapple with their crisis. When they are
ready to move to the next stage, then all of us good Samaritans will get our
chance to show our care and concern.

I will continue to update everyone as I learn more.
