Could someone please tell us why Queens Chapel Road is closed where it goes
through University Park?

I was only a child in Riverdale Park in the '90s and it was already blocked
off by then so I don't know the circumstances of it closure. What I DO know
is the fact that this road is closed off causes Washington, DC commuters to
cut through Queensbury, MD 410, and Riverdale Road, causing us all the
headaches described in these earlier posts. I recall hearing that some
politician (Glendening??) lived in University Park and was able to
facilitate its closure. If that's the case, then forget the 'Do not block
intersection' signs, selective police enforcement, extra left turn lanes,
and speed humps - what we need is for a state-level politician to move in to
our town and close off Queensbury Road!
