Please don't cc: the TownTalk list when sending personal (one-to-one)
messages!

I understand there are occasions where people mean to reply to the list (for
which you must use the REPLY-ALL mode) but inadvertently hit the simple
REPLY and the message goes only to the original sender, rather than the
list.  In cases where there's absolutely certainty this is what happened, it
may be ok to add "TownTalk" to the list of recipients when replying.  But
only then.

If a reader has - for whatever reason - chosen to reply directly to you AND
ONLY YOU to a post that you made to TownTalk then you should continue the
conversation with that person - or not, as you choose.  There are many
reasons why someone might reply directly to you rather than to the list -
the reasons are theirs and should be honored by all of us.  It is totally
inappropriate to add TownTalk back into the list of recipients when replying
in such a case without the full consent and acknowledgment of the person to
whom you are responding.
