Hello all,
I don't chime in often here on Town Talk but I feel I must this time.
I agree with Bruce. While I do not believe tagging for tagging's sake is artful (nor for that matter are obscenities an artful way of expression), I would argue that graffiti is art. Certainly, as Gerald pointed out, it is being sold and collected as art. Perhaps we should remember both the Impressionists and the field of photography when we make blanket statements in this manner. Once they were not art either.
Bruce: perhaps sanctioned "canvas" would go a long way towards more acceptance for these creative people?
