Historic is for you! Or come check out the Kitchen Guild's Seasonal
Selections FREE cooking demos! Have some out-of-towners visiting? Take
advantage of a FREE tour of Riversdale on Smithsonian Museum Day! Is
your favorite board game "Clue"? Do you try to keep your guilty pleasure
of solving murders along with Jessica Fletcher under wraps? Come over
for our Historic Whodunit to test your murder-solving skills! Looking to
get the kids out of the house on Halloween, a day off from school, so
you can get busy decorating and making costumes for your legendary

Riversdale lays a bountiful table with the locally-grown produce of the
kitchen garden and orchard, prepared using historic recipes paired with
locally-made beverages from Franklin's. Enjoy a stroll in the gardens
and a special talk given by Cynthia Brown of the Smithsonian Gardens!
Ages 21 & up
$30 residents of Prince George's & Montgomery Counties; $36
non-residents

Historic Whodunit
Saturday, October 22, 6:30 pm
In 1805, a Frenchman visited Riversdale and insulted everyone. What if
he were found dead? Meet the victim and Mrs. Calvert's honored guests
over dessert, then, working in teams, collect the clues to solve the
puzzle of who killed him. Was it the British army officer? The
Frenchman's sister? Perhaps Mrs. Calvert herself? Ages 18 & up
$25 residents; $30 non-residents; registration required by October 7.

Hands-on History: The Writer's Apprentice
Monday, October 31, 10am-3pm
Children ages 8-12, make paper and ink 19th century-style, create a
story, and more! 
$15 residents; $18 non-residents; registration required by October 17.

Smithsonian Museum Day
Saturday, September 24, 1:45pm 
Museum Day is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian Media in which
participating museums across the country, including Riversdale, open
their doors for FREE to anyone presenting a Museum Day ticket. Read more

Seasonal Selections
Sundays, noon-3:30pm
Using produce from the garden and orchard, Guild members demonstrate
foodways in the dependency. Selections are inspired by the traditional
seasonal cycles of the 19th century farm. Drop by to watch them work for
FREE!
