If you are interested in learning more about organic gardening, I wanted to let you know about a cool upcoming workshop

GROW YOUR OWN FOOD: ORGANIC
GARDENING WORKSHOP 
Saturday mornings from 9:30 to
11:00 a.m. , March 3-April 7 at the Walsh-Mellett home and garden in Mt.
Rainier, MD 20712  (Judy will give you
the address when you register.)
COST: $125 for the five series
session. Workshop Series limited to 10 participants. 
 
March 3rd : Garden Planning:
choosing a location, deciding what to plant 
March 17th: What to Plant When:
starting seedlings indoors and direct seeding 
March 24th: Growing Good Soil:
composting, fertilizing, cover crops 
March 31st: Double Digging Raised
Beds: joys of the spade and the broad fork 
April 7th: The Growing Season: tips
on transplanting, tending, watering, harvesting

Judy is a wonderful person and a
terrific gardener!  I know you’ll enjoy
her as much as the great information you get.  She
began gardening with her Dad and sisters in a large home garden in Upstate New
York. She has tended her Mt. Rainier garden for over 20 years. Judy received
her “Master Gardener” certification through the DC Cooperative Extension
Service in 1994, trained as a volunteer at the US National Arboretum in 1997,
and attended Ecology Actions “Sustainable Mini-Farming Course” in 2000. She is
currently learning beekeeping.
