Two things; the good one first:

1)  Finally after the house being empty for approximately 2 years, and 15 months after a fire destroyed the garage, there is a dumpster in front of the house at 4810 Somerset Road.  Looks like they are finally going to clean up the mess which once was a garage.  I've been inside the house and it also has been torn apart.  

2)  Field of Dreams.  Came thru Erco parking lot about 1:15 yesterday afternoon and there were 15 cars parked where the signs say "No parking 24/7" and not one car parked in the section marked "Parking in the evenings and on weekends."  Then down to 48th Avenue and there again were approximately 20 cars parked along the street.  I also wouldn't want to be the person living at the corner of 48th Avenue and Tuckerman.  Yesterday there were about 5-8 men standing under the tree on the corner leaning on the fence on that property.  There were also about 4-5 chairs set on the sidewalk with people sitting in them and children sitting on the curb.  All watching the soccer game across the street.  Also, I noticed that I got no response to my statement that "when the Field of Dreams was first opened, the resident living near the field were assured that people would not be allowed to park on the side streets.  They must park in Erco or lose the use of the field."  Guess they had no answer for that one.  Also makes me wonder what kind of parking problems we might experience once Cafritz is developed and the bridge over the tracks is completed.
