I am sending this to the Riverdale Business Association, but I thought
others in the community would be interested and didn't know if you heard about
it. Please, everyone join us.

Subj: Saturday Public Safety Community Walk
Hi folks,
Please join Chief David Morris, elected officials, police commanders and
code enforcement for a Public Safety Community Walk on June 9, 2012.
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate.
Meet at 10:30 a.m. at the Town Center Market, 4705 Queensbury Rd. (Come
early and have coffee and doughnut!), Tour Ward One Area then complete the
walk at the Calvert House, 6211 Baltimore Avenue.
Calvert House will have a special "Happy Hour Luncheon". Bottled Domestic
Beers $2, Margarita or Cosmos $4. Special Riverdale Burger with fries $5,
Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Fries $5, or My Favorite Riverdale Club $5.
NOTE: Patio Accommodations at Calvert House for those with Dogs! (This
could be the start of a dog happy hour!)
This is a good opportunity to interact with your elected officials, police
commanders and neighbors.
Hope to see you there!
Quote of the day: "Empowerment is surely reflected in the values of the
homes within the neighborhood. Neighborhoods are in part physical
structures, but they depend on the social interactions of the people. Science tells
us a neighborhood needs a strong group identity. People should manage
their own neighborhoods as much as possible. When people get involved on a
volunteer basis, they find joy because they belong to this family-like group"
From "Darwin in the City" by David Sloan Wilson
