*Cellist Carol Anne Bosco Goes Baroque to Folk***

*RIVERDALE PARK, MD. August 28, 2013* – It’s not often that the Baroque
works of German composer Johann Sebastian Bach make it on the same bill as
music by The Band (rock and rockabilly), The Avett Brothers
(bluegrass<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluegrass_music>,
folk <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folk_music>, rock and ragtime), and
Irish folk artists The Dubliners but cellist Carol Anne Bosco brings them
all together in a live, one hour performance Thursday evening in another
edition of the 2013 Summer Patio Concert series at Town Center Market.

Bosco, 24, a first year graduate student at University of Maryland’s School
of Music, began playing the cello in Norfolk, VA public schools when she
was 10 years old and has taken on additional duties as a singer.

“I have recently been experimenting with arranging different folk tunes for
solo cello and voice,” Bosco says. “I’ll play songs I've arranged and
contrasting them with the solo Bach cello suites in between for added
interest. Bach is always fun for a cellist to play because of the multiple
voices he can create with just one melodic line.”

The free, summer concert series, made possible by a generous grant by the
Riverdale Lions Club, begins at 7 pm on the Town Center Market patio
immediately following the Riverdale Park Farmers Market in Town Center
(3-to-7 pm every Thursday).
