A bad check, huh?  You're right, there IS a difference.  Still definitely a theft, though.   The info on other posts about letting police know when you're away is valuable advice; don't know if I'd be able to take advantage of that, seeing as I live in an apartment.

I don't know about the other entries there, but the theft reported in the 4700 block of Queensbury apparently refers to a bad check at Town Center Market, I'm told.  Not a good thing, but a heckuva lot better than a theft from a pedestrian, home or car!  Also yet another lesson for us all on the difficulties and caveats of understanding data!
