Bruce, while in the beginning I was like warm about the whole Cafritz thing, when I started reading about the "bridge" a few months ago, I started getting concerned. Now that you have brought the bridge from a 2D image on paper to a 3D mental image, you have really solidified for me that this project may not be worth the revenue as far as the effect on the town. I almost bought a house over on that side of town when I first moved here. I have been thinking about moving from the south side of 410 to the north side for years. But now, I don't think I have any interest in moving over there. Even if it's only half has bad as you have described, it doesn't sound good. I feel bad for those folks who will live next to that bridge.

Perhaps a more important issue for those of you who live on the north side
> of E/W highway near the RR tracks is the following. The Cafritz bridge
> over the RR tracks will be the same height as the E/W highway bridge over
> the same. This bridge will parallel the east side of the RR tracks for a
> few hundred feet, then swing away along the north border of the Field of
> Dreams to Rivertech Court. To get to the point, we all know how loud the
> trains are. There will be significant reflection of the sound generated by
> the trains off the Cafritz bridge east and west for those of you who live
> in the immediate area. I can't tell you if the reflected sound will be
> worse on the east side of the RR tracks, but I wouldn't want to live in
> the residential area on the west side. In addition, the traffic over the
> bridge will be elevated significantly above grade (where the houses are)
> projecting the related sound throughout the neighborhoods nearby.
>
> I hope this helps you sleep better at night.
