As I said, give the team a few months and I am sure that your questions will be answered--maybe even in less time. The legislation that needs to be passed for the County Executive to play a greater role in the school system is not relevant to the playground. Moreover, parts of the playground can proceed even if questions do arise.

Take care,

Dannielle

All the details are still be figured out, so if you have more questions you will need to wait a little bit. Please give the team a few months to figure some important details out. The park will not be turned over to the school for exclusive use.

Your statement below indicates that this is only 1/5 of the total cost. Can you advise where the remaining $800,000 plus will come from to fund this project.

I wanted to share with everyone especially new residents a project which the town has been working on to improve the playground at Riverdale Elementary, enhance play space in general, and create additional parking for teachers, visitors, and when the school is not in session visitors to town hall. The proposal is below. Thanks to the work of the town, especially Sara Imhulse, the town will be receiving a grant for 1/5 of the costs of this project in a month. Meetings over the next few months with key partners--PGCPS and MNCPPC--will hopefully fulfill some of the additional expenses. There is lots more work to be done on this project, but I credit the town with moving an idea closer to implementation which will benefit the school, our kids, and our whole community.
