Catrina hits the nail on the head once again.
New zip brings with it all sorts of possibilities that include developers
and creators looking at an old town a new way. Important if you want
improvements like more shopping, dining and entertainment. Brentwood has
been trying for years to step it up and it certainly looks like it's
meeting with some success. Here's this afternoon's Bisnow Dining to tell
you more...
But wait, one more thing for those concerned about saving on tax
assessments using crime-riddled zips: besides the points made by Catrina
and others, how much is 20737 COSTING you on car insurance for car thefts,
crime on the streets (outside RP) and all the other negative events that
are used against policyholders?
Note to Town Council: Time to ZIP US UP to *38* -- 207*38**!**!**! *GET
STARTED MONDAY*!**!**!*

Chef/owner *Lance London* announced that he'll open the *third* DMV
location of his low-country comfort food restaurant, *Carolina Kitchen*, in
*January 2014*. Well, technically it's his fourth; but the first, opened in
downtown Silver Spring in '96, burned down in '04. The *6,000 SF *space
will join the new *Rhode Island Row* community near the RI Ave-Brentwood
Metro stop. His menu, inspired by his*grandmother's* recipes, will
feature* low-country
favorites* like shrimp and grits, Creole-grilled salmon, smothered chicken,
and Southern-fried lobster tail. Check out the animated *rendering* of the
space above.

Lance will also be opening *TKO (total knockout) Burger* next door to
Carolina Kitchen. He hopes to have the second opening within a few*weeks* of
the first. In addition to *22* types of burgers (beef, turkey, softshell
crab, fried chicken, veggie, and more), Lance tells us TKO will offer "the
sort of things you'd see at a *picnic:* potato salad, baked beans, grilled
corn, lemonade squeezed *fresh* right in your face." The two restaurants
will be *separate* in front but *share* the large kitchen in back. *Fun
fact:* Lance originally named it *"CK Burger"* (for Carolina Kitchen), but
changed it to TKO after receiving*cease-and-desist* letters from Calvin
Klein. Take an animated tour of TKO above.
