Hello everyone!

As you know by now, we are working HARD on War of 1812 related programs, especially the Undaunted Weekend (August 21-24). The weekend starts with the Battle at the Baysox, our annual War of 1812 night at the Bowie Baysox game on Thursday night.  On Friday will be an RSVP only "John Bull Roast" at Riversdale.  Saturday will be the Battle of Bladensburg program, while on Sunday we will set about to burn Washington D.C. again with a variety of activities happening in Bladensburg and DC. We hope you have the weekend set on the calendar - the weekend will be a great cap to the summer before kids return to school.

However, we have a few ways you can participate.  Please consider how you can help:

Vendors:
On behalf of the Battle of Bladensburg Task Force, our group is
seeking approximately twenty (20) arts and crafts vendors to be featured at the
Undaunted Weekend/Battle of Bladensburg on August 23, 2014 at Bladensburg
Waterfront Park. Approximately half of the slots are scheduled for Gateway Arts
District vendors, while the remaining can come from Prince George’s County and
surrounding areas. Artists and crafters need NOT be 1812 related or in costume,
but participants which include traditional crafts, historic trades, general
American patriotism, and/or the heritage, history and culture of the region and
Maryland are strongly encouraged and will receive precedence over others. This program
will include re-enactments, live cannon demonstrations, children’s games, food
trucks, music, and fireworks in the evening.

Applications are being accepted on our website (Vendor Application)no
later than June 30, 2014.  See website
for details.

Volunteers:
We need YOUR help for Undaunted Weekend!
We have a hundred different ways to make sure the fun is
non-stop on Undaunted Weekend. Can you lend a hand on August 23 or 24 at
Bladensburg for our program? Volunteer opportunities will be at Waterfront Park
on Route 450 and US Alternate Route 1. Opportunities include hosting guest
services, logistics, safety, education, and music. Volunteer groups are
welcome. There is truly something for everyone!
We are in need of 100-150 volunteers on three shifts. Volunteers
will have parking provided and will receive an event t-shirt.
Registration for volunteers can be found at Volunteer
