[RP TownTalk] burglary on 4800 block of Ravenswood Ave. (Ward 2)

My neighbor's house was broken into today, between 11am and 1pm. They took
jewelry, passports - many many things of great value.

If you saw something suspicious, the Riverdale Park Police would very much
like any information you might have. Please call them at 301-927-7407.  We
have reason to believe the house was being monitored by the thieves prior
to the break in.

And please, folks, if you see or hear anything suspicious, please call the
police ASAP - the direct line to our police department is 301-927-4343, but
you can get a county level dispatcher at 911 who can route the call to our
police department. Don't worry about needlessly upsetting innocent people.
The police are trained to assess these situations and they can make the
determination as to the appropriate interventions. Without information, the
police don't have a chance to assess and decide how to intervene.

I heard some weird banging noises during that time period, but couldn't
figure out where it was coming from, and decided it must be construction. I
wish I'd looked a little harder to figure it out. :-(
