[RP TownTalk] Bostwick & Bike Rally (May 2/3)

Hello everyone!  Happy Spring! Maryland Milestones/ATHA Inc. (your local heritage area program) has been working hard since the War of 1812 was fought again (and we still lost).  Now we are turning our attention to working on the increased development of bicycle tourism and bicycle infrastructure.    However, we have one program that is returning from 1812 and that is the Bostwick Festival on Saturday, May 2nd from 10am to 4pm.  This program includes music from the Homespun Ceildh Band and Blue Plains (acoustic trio), swordfighters, blacksmith, farm animals, flintlock demonstration, several arts vendors, and tours of the property. We even have a trolley running from Waterfront Park for ease of parking and to stop at the new 1812 monument and the Magruder House. We hope you join us at 3300 48th Street, Bladensburg, MD for the event.    The very next day (Sunday, May 3) we will turn our attention to our trails and will head out for our Rivers to Rockets Bike Rally at 10am from Magruder Park in Hyattsville.  The ride will use the trails, riding through Berwyn Heights, and Riverdale Park for their arts festival (we will pause for about 15 minutes at the arts festival). Registration starts at 10, ride leaves about 10:30, and lunch is included with the registration costs.  We will also have some swag available for you.  We hope you join us on what we assume will be an absolutely beautiful day.   We continue to work hard for our communities.  If you hadn’t heard, our mini-grant program is now open for those in arts, history, or natural resources.
