Corey,
The fastest way is walk down Lafayette to Tuckerman where there's a clearing to cross the tracks. Then head down Tuckerman on the west side of the tracks and make a right on Route 1. Very fast but be careful crossing the tracks!

I ran into a couple at Busboys & Poets in Hyattsville tonight who came out today from Alexandria just to check out the new Whole Foods (though I'm not sure, but I think they thought it was located in College Park; maybe it really is!?!?!)

I just went for the first time. There were people in the parking lot directing traffic to empty parking spaces. I found a spot very quickly. 
There are lots of 2-for-1 deals, and deeply discounted prices right now - a good time to stock up! 
That store is unlike anything we've seen in this part of Prince George's County. I can't believe how lucky I am to live within walking distance - especially once the bridge goes in.
