4 PM Book Reading

"When I Grow Up, I Want To Be Myself" written by A.Cole, Illustrated by Lea
Embeli

My story titled "When I Grow Up, I Want to Be Myself" was inspired by
myself and many other little girls who are unique and have personality!
Naya, the main character is an eight year old girl who feels ashamed that
she is not prepared for her class' career day. She has a realization that
although she does not know what she wants to be when she grows up, she
knows the type of person she wants to be and discovers what it truly means
to love herself. This book celebrates diversity and represents a variety of
cultures. Naya teaches us to celebrate our uniqueness, to be fearless, and
to be ourselves.
Book signing to follow.
Please come out so we can make this a regular event again,
Free Hot chocolate and coffee.

8PM Riverdale Rail Concerts

Karen Collins, Mary Battiata & Annette Wasilik WHAT A LINEUP!!

Karen Collins writes exceptional songs that she delivers in a traditional
style—Hazel Dickens meets Loretta Lynn. Who says they don’t make ’em like
they used to!

*“Absolutely brilliant** … **Front-woman Mary Battiata and her rootsy
Washington DC band evoke Richard and Linda Thompson at their most lyrical
on this impeccably crafted, often haunting CD.” – Lucid Culture (NYC)*

Anette Wasilik
Annette's songwriting influences include Jane Siberry, Lucinda Williams and
John Prine to mention just a few. Both down to earth and deeply
atmospheric, Annette’s songs are explorations into longing, love, loss,
God, home, homesickness and hope.

Come to the house concert in a bookstore. Riverdale's newest listening
venue offers the best of local and touring songwriters. $15 (uncludes tax)
suggested donation. Coffee, homemade brownies and more.
