The Riverdale Park Arts Council (RPAC) will host its 10th Annual Arts Fest
2017 on Saturday, May 6th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Town Center in
Riverdale Park. The rain date is Sunday, May 7th at the same time. The
location is the parking area at Town Center next to the Train Station.

There will be artists, artisans, blues and rock musicians, authors, poets,
craft dealers, folk performers, silent auction, model train exhibit and
much more. Original artwork includes oil paintings, sculpture, handmade
jewelry, stained glass, and more. The Riverdale Volunteer Firefighters will
host a BBQ.

The stage lineup features the Smokin' Polecats, cellist Peter Swanson with
the Prince George's Philharmonic, dancing by Fudacion Elena Ballet
Folkorico Mexicano and Sin Fronteras Ballet of Baltimore, poetry readings
and more! The Children's Pavilion offers free face painting and DIY potted
plants just in time for Mother's Day.

RPAC’s Gerald King Fine Arts Award will be presented to Corrine Carter, a
resident of University Park. She most recently studied at the National
Gallery of Art Drawing Salon and the Brentwood Arts Exchange. The award is
named in honor of the late Gerald King, a longtime resident of Riverdale
Park. RPAC annually selects an art student who shows promise in realism.
Winners receive a $500 grant for art supplies and a one-year study
apprenticeship under master artist Bruce I. Campbell at King’s studio in
Riverdale Park. You can bid in a silent auction for an original painting by
the 2016 awardee Ana Vazquez, an art major at Prince George's Community
College.

Everyone is invited! Bring the entire family for the fun, food and
festivities. Get a free ArtsFest T-shirt when you make a purchase from a
participating vendor (while supplies last).

The Riverdale Park Arts Council is a non-profit, volunteer-based
organization that supports and promotes artistic and cultural activities in
Riverdale Park and surrounding communities.
