for the Montessori environment!2. Meet the lead staff for SJA's Montessori
expanded early-learning programs:*









*Maggie Radzik, DIrector, and Lead Teacher, Montessori Primary Class #3*
Maggie brings nearly 30 years of teaching experience and a national
reputation to SJA. She has earned three AMI diplomas for 0-3, 3-6, 6-12 and
an M.Ed. from Loyola University. Maggie is also trained at all levels of
the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and is a formation leader for Level I.
Maggie was the founding head of school at Siena Academy Montessori School
in Great Falls, Va., and was also the founding head of Ave Maria Montessori
in Ave Maria, Fl.

*Elizabeth Burghart, Assistant Director*
A graduate of Benedictine College, Elizabeth served as a Catechesis of the
Good Shepherd Catechist in Iowa for nearly a decade. Drawn to Montessori
through her training and experience in all three levels of the Catechesis,
she received her Early Childhood Montessori credentials through the Iowa
Montessori Training Center. After serving as Primary Guide for School of
Mary Montessori in Des Moines, Elizabeth was catechist in SJA's Atrium in
2017-18.

*Micheala** van Versendaal, Lead Teacher, Primary Class #1*
Micheala received her BA from Emmanuel College, her MTS from the John Paul
II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family, and her MEd in Montessori
Education from the Washington Montessori Institute at Loyola University.
She has completed Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level I certification and
Part 1 of Level II. Micheala was Primary Directress 2013-2016.at SJA.
After a year abroad in Regensburg, Germany, Micheala returns to SJA for
2018-2019.

*Siena Baker, Lead Teacher, Primary Class #2*
Siena graduated from The Catholic University of American with a B.M. in
Violin Performance in 2014.  After performing in Europe, she fell in love
with the beautiful way of Montessori and went on to receive her AMI Primary
diploma from Washington Montessori Institute and M.A. in Education from
Loyola University in 2017.  After another year of instrumental and voice
performance, Siena joins SJA's faculty for her first position as a Primary
Lead Teacher.

*Sophie Oriani, Lead Teacher, Toddler Room*
Sophie received her Bachelor of Philosophy from The Catholic University of
America in 2014, and her AMI Assistants to Infancy (0-3) Diploma from
Montessori Northwest in 2016. She has taught in SJA's Toddler Room for the
past four years, currently assisted by her twin sister, Teresa Bippus..
Sophie is particularly interested in helping families with the practical
applications of Montessori principles in daily life.
