After being dormant for years, the area has seen renewed interest
since Riverdale
Park Station <http://riverdaleparkstation.com> opened just around the
corner.

The coffee shop means the departure of a longtime tenant of the building,
the Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation <http://www.acousticblues.com>,
which has hosted weekly jam sessions there focusing on acoustic Piedmont
blues since 2009.

The nonprofit announced it will hold the sessions

to anyone, even if all you can play is a washboard — at 2 p.m. on Saturdays
at the Public Option bar at 1601 Rhode Island Ave. NE in Northeast D.C.
