[RP TownTalk] Special Election in Ward One

Hi Regina,

Tracey resigned last Monday evening, and the election was scheduled at
that time; the Town Council was obligated to wait until she had
resigned to schedule the election.  Town staff has taken over posting
to Town-Announce as of the beginning of November, but as I understand
it they plan on posting just on Mondays (there may be some minor
technical hiccups the first time they do it, which I expect to be next
Monday).

With respect to election-related communications on town-sponsored
lists, the seems to be a consensus among the members of the
Communications Committee that it's a good idea for the town to do
something like that.  Town Code says that the council must authorize
the use of town resources for electioneering, which they have not done
(and their next meeting will be the Monday before the election). I'm
not sure of where to go with that....
