[RP TownTalk] Receipts from Landlord

Hello, 

I'm moving to Riverdale Park and wanted to are landlords required to
provide tenants with a receipt regardless of payment type?

 

My potential landlord is having a hard time providing a receipt because
I pay with a check - stating that I get a copy of the canceled check so
that is my receipt.

 

Is there any way to fight this?
