What stands now is nothing more than the developer's offer in an
ongoing negotiation with the town. The question is not "no" vs "yes"
on this proposal. The project is expected to change as the mayor and
council negotiate with the developer.

The question is how to get the changes we need to make the project acceptable.

I object to the continuing promotion of the idea that there is some
element in the town government that supports the current proposal.

Nobody does. Give me the name of one elected official who endorses
the current proposal. I can't even find anyone in the entire town who
does.

However, most people do support investment in our town. Most people
do support negotiating with developers who are offering to make a
major investment in Riverdale Park.

This is a negotiation. It is too early to jump out and say "NO", and
it is too early to jump out and say "YES".
