I still have photographs I took about 4 years ago of the feces-soiled
diapers, broken glass and used condoms I used to routinely find in the riverside
park. And not in the garbage cans, mind you. Strewn about the parking lot.
Showed them to the then-mayor and not much has happened since. It's kind of
funny how I'm expected to clean up after my dogs (which I do and always have
since way before I ever moved here), but other park goers are not expected
to.

What a great way to solve a serious problem (trash so bad my dog routinely
cuts his paws on the broken beer bottles along Queensbury, blatant public
urination, public defication, dead chickens in the road, people
living/bathing/washing clothes in the creek near the east end of Oglethorpe in plain sight,
trashed parks every Monday, etc). We will talk about what's great about our
Town and do nothing. Drown out the bad words from that mean old man Bruce and
sit in front of our TV sets and ignore him. He is so negative. We only want
to hear nice things Mommy.

I'm sorry folks, but I guess I've set my expectations a little too high. I
like a clean safe environment for the kids to grow up and play in. It's this
thing I have.

Are there any adults out there who consider this to be a problem which needs
to be addressed? Is there anyone out there who cares? If not, I'll stop
wasting my time.

Bruce

Arletta

I did RPO 101 long time ago and can do it if you don't get ahold of PAW. I
don't think they're active in that anymore. I also offered to do Safety
around pets. I even have a live pettable prop.

Feel free to contact me off list

Adrianne

I am trying to contact PAW to see if someone in their Responsible Pet
Ownership section would be willing to come talk the 4-H club. I can't get
any responses to my emails. I noticed that their website (other than the
calendar) seems to be pretty out of date so I don't know if the contact info
on the site is even current.

Do any of you know anyone that works for PAW. Or maybe you know someone who
knows someone?

And for those of you that were just thinking, "When is the next 4-H club
meeting?" It next Thursday at 6:30. Contact me if you've got any questions
or suggestions for speakers. Thanks!

I forgot three other things I like about Riverdale Park:

Arletta and the new 4-H Club (my youngest kid is really excited about
it, and Arletta is a wonderful leader)
Aunt Emily's Doll Shop
All the people who volunteer their time and help with community activities

I like Rob's idea of the card.
