LOL!  and apologies.

When I sent my reply about possums I hadn't gotten the digest with the possum replies.  I notice my reply is almost identical to someone else's.  I guess great minds think alike.

The opossum society (I am not making this up) answers this question
n their "Frequently Asked Questions" page:
Question: Do opossums carry rabies?
nswer: Any mammal can get rabies. However, the chance of rabies in
n opossum is EXTREMELY RARE. This may have something to do with the
possum?s low body temperature (94-97? F) making it difficult for the
irus to survive in an opossum?s body.
See it in context at http://www.opossumsocietyus.org/
requently_asked_questions.htm#Do%20opossums%20carry%20rabies?
