[RP TownTalk] door-to-door Honeywell security guy

I live near Crescent Cities, and the so-called Honeywell guy knocked on my door earlier this week. I talked to him through the locked screen door, with my dogs barking wildly. He asked whether my dogs bite. I told him they will if I let them out. Gave me the same pitch about the "recent break-ins" in the neighborhood and talked about the "free" Honeywell security system, etc., which (surprise, surprise) isn't free at all -- the unit and installation are "free," but the monthly maintenance fee is something like $30. He seemed young, nervous, and even apologized for his inexperience as a salesman. I cut his spiel short, pointed out that there was clearly nothing free about the offer, said that if I wanted a security system I'd call the company directly, and shooed him on his way. I don't know if he was legit or not, frankly, but I don't any solicitors on my doorstep.
