I thought this event (Tomorrow, Monday the 19th at 6:15pm) might be of
interest to Riverdalians interested in issues surrounding the economic
development taking place in our front, side, and backyards...
(Apologies to El Viejo Coot for not having any of my own comments to
add, other than that I find the Rethinking College Park blog a good
read, and imagine this talk on "NIMBYs, Plans, and Blogs: Rethinking
the Development Review Process in College Park" will be educational as
well. ;-)

Hi all-

I've been invited to speak to the UMD Emerging Green Builders group
about Rethink College Park tomorrow at 6:15 p.m. in Room 1111 of the
Architecture Building.

My talk will be titled "NIMBYs, Plans, and Blogs: Rethinking the
Development Review Process in College Park," and will cover some
current local development issues, the goals and concept of the
website, preliminary results from our first-ever reader survey, and
some of the challenges we are facing.

It will be a good opportunity to hear about what's going on in town
and what we're trying to do with the website, especially if you're
looking to get more involved. We should wrap up in time for the
Richard Sennett lecture at 8 p.m.
