[RP TownTalk] Riverdale Part Day-What's that? When? Where?

I am a bit concern about our little community of Riverdale Park. Prior 
to the WWW, Town Talk, and the Riverdale Wiki, Riverdale Park Day was a 
well known event. It was of great concern to any Riverdalian who was 
proud to live here. I'm not the most community involved person and it 
took many years before I understood the importance of the Riversdale 
Mansion as a cultural treasure around which people of Riverdale Park 
could unite and enjoy each others company. Riverdale Park Day, the day 
the Mansion grounds were opened up for a community festival, has always 
been a special event not only for Riverdale Park, but the entire 
Washington Metropolitan Area.
Well, what happened? Today I see hardly a mention of it in any of the 
community communication vehicles. Only the Riverdale Business 
Association brought it up on  Town Talk.  I don't see it on the Wiki. I 
haven't seen any banners or posters around town. The Town Crier had a 
little ad, but it was eclipsed by the full page  photo display of 
National Night Out.
This is not to criticize the organizers and volunteers who are putting 
on Riverdale Park Day. They are greatly appreciated by the Town and me. 
I only wish I had been better informed of the event. Perhaps some 
history, some pictures of prior Riverdale Park Days, some comments from 
all of the council members besides Keelah of Ward 6. I guess the 
helicopter will not land this  year, but  I'm looking forward to some 
good music and some a lot of good company.  Gerald King
