[RP TownTalk] Blast into the Past this Saturday at Riversdale!

Hello! 

 

If you're looking for a great FREE family outing this weekend, come on
by to Riversdale's 16th Annual Battle of Bladensburg Encampment this
Saturday, August 13, from noon-4pm! With the War of 1812 Bicentennial
celebration underway, we've got some special additions this year! Learn
about some of the cool plans and ideas in the works for 2012 and enjoy
some cupcakes during a special 2pm announcement! SCOUTS have the
opportunity for Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, and Seniors to complete a
badge at this event and Boy Scouts can fulfill many of the American
Heritage badge requirements! Email Samantha.Ferris at pgparks.com for more
information! 

 

Crowd favorites will be available, too. Watch British and American War
of 1812 troops march and drill, talk with reenactors, and take part in
period amusements and pastimes. We've got lots of activities for the
kids, too, as well as cooking demos, period refreshments, and live
music! Take a break inside with a tour of the historic house or browse
the museum shop. All grounds activities are FREE and house tours are $2
per person.
