Good Question, Patrick.  From my very limited experience, it's the 'several different colors' that are driving up the price.  


Audrey once recommended a guy named John Gardosik - I googled him quickly and see that he is on Angie's list.  We were satisfied with the work he did.  He did a lot of wall paper removal (from walls not properly prepped) and painted.  This was 11 years ago, so I don't remember the price.  But I do remember it costing us to have different colors.  Think of the work involved when you change colors - it really takes time.
