The New Year inspires us to think about the future for the Anacostia River. We are
working hard to make the river clean enough to swim in and healthy enough to fish
from. It is a big challenge, but we have made a lot of progress with your support.
What's coming up in 2013? We are going to

* Advocate for a Maryland-wide disposable bag bill and a Maryland bottle bill to
 reduce trash for a cleaner Anacostia River for all.
* How the most successful Earth Day Cleanup ever! Save the date for Earth Day on
 April, 20, 2013!
* Engage students, community members, and volunteers like you by the thousands in
rewarding work like planting trees, installing bird boxes, and rebuilding wetlands.
* Create new docks and access points along the Anacostia River so community members
like you have places to boat, kayak, and canoe.

 2013!
